The Story

You were once a small fish living the good life inside a fish bowl. While on a Caribbean cruise with your human family, your bowl accidentally fell overboard. As you drifted through the vast depths of the ocean, you came to rest on a large coral reef. You soon discover that this reef is actually an amazing underwater world filled with all kinds of interesting characters and unique marine life. You are immediately taken under the fin by “Reef Whale”, Ronald Trout. Mr. Trout is going to teach you how to start living the “Reef Life” and in the process, how to become a whale yourself.

Life on the reef is a fragile balancing act, but there is plenty of opportunity for you and your friends. You can find starfish and recycle bottles to earn coins- the main currency of the reef. If you are really entrepreneurial, you can rent neighborhoods with businesses to give yourself even more earning potential. Good luck and welcome to your new “Reef Life”.

Seeking Creative Submissions - Sell Your Work Through Sam’s Interactive Reader

Monday, April 6th, 2009

img-creativesWe are pleased to announce the official launch of “Creative Submissions“.  This is a new area of our web site specifically for content creators to contribute their works for sale within Sam’s Interactive Reader.  Storybook Anytime Creative Submissions is looking for original creative works that are unique and interesting.  This includes live action video, animation, children’s music, and educational and fun games for kids.  Sam’s Interactive reader is known for its quality “Edutainment” content. There are many talented and creative individuals that are producing this type of content.  Creative Submissions gives them the perfect opportunity to present this content to a focused audience in the appropriate environment and earn a flat royalty rate of 50% for each purchase of their accepted work.

We believe this new initiative allows the community to participate in the content that is distributed through our flagship product,” says Angie Johnston, President of Storybook Anytime.  “There is a wealth of fantastic, contemporary children’s content that the world has not yet seen and we are proud to make it possible for that content to be published.

Creative Submissions also represents a new strategic business initiative for Storybook Anytime.  The introduction of user-generated content along side its original works provides huge benefits to its customers.  These benefits include less time between new content releases and more diverse and contemporary subject matter.  In addition, it extends the financial benefit not just to Storybook Anytime but allows us to share revenue with content creators in a way that benefits everyone.

Sam’s Fish Bowl - Version 1.0 Release

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

As we kick off an exciting 2009 we are pleased to announce that our popular Facebook application, Sam’s Fish Bowl, is now officially out of Beta.  Version 1.0 went live at 5:30AM PST today and we could not be more pleased with the results.

During our Beta period we added over 2100 users to the application and continue to see almost 98% of those users remain active and faithful to their fish! This growth has happened rapidly and was generated strictly from word of mouth. Thank you users- you are incredible! We simply can not thank everyone enough. Keep those feature requests coming!

For those not familiar with the application it allows you to become the caregiver of a super-unique fish. Your fish is alive and well and lives everyday on Facebook. He will require special care and feeding from both you and your friends, and will certainly become a beloved member of the family. Each time you feed your fish you will earn Super Feeder Points. These points can be shared with your child’s Super Reader Points within Sam’s Interactive Reader. We think you’ll like this casual game and it also helps us spread the word about Storybook Anytime through everyone’s social network on Facebook. Thank you for your support!
